Crowns (also called caps) are used to restore broken or cracked teeth. The new metal-free crowns eliminate the ugly black line you may have seen next to the gum line on older crowns. Crowns can be used for a number of reasons.

   To restore proper biting relationships with the opposing teeth
   To reshape a tooth in order to prevent gum irritation
   To bring back the appearance of natural tooth
   To enhance the strength of a severely weakened or cracked tooth
   To reshape a tooth in order to prevent food impaction
